The new web series is a political espionage-themed spoof inspired by shows like "24" and "Homeland" that follows CIA-officer Phoebe Rose Quackenberry as she tries to hunt down and infiltrate homegrown terrorists who are planning attacks on American soil. Created by Ali MacClean, who also stars as Phoebe, and Katie Schwartz, the series will feature Baron Vaughn (Fairly Legal), Brendon Small (Metlalocalypse), Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks), Ron Lynch (Bob’s Burgers) and Matt Kirshen (Last Comic Standing). Additional FKR.TV programming is available at Frenchkiss Records TV.
The new series follows the sucess of the orignal line-up of web series launched earlier this year by FKR.TV, a collaboration between Frenchkiss Records founder Syd Butler and actor-comedian David Cross ("Arrested Development," "Mr. Show"). Butler and Cross have partnered with the Orchard Video Network to develop new content and original programming including comedy and interview shows as well as music videos and rare live performances by Frenchkiss artists. Thursdays will focus on original comedy programming, with other new episodes premiering each week. The Thursday lineup includes "Buyer’s Remorse," which follows a washed-up pop star whose new house turns out to be haunted, and "This One Time," which features true stories recreated by puppets. Story tellers featured in "This One Time" include Fred Armisen, Amber Tamblyn, Gavin McInnes, Syd Butler, Amy Carlson and more. You can subscribe to the official FKR.TV YouTube channel here.
